Stefan Raab was quite the provocateur in his younger years and that’s what caused Moses Pelham to break his nose. 28 years after the incident, the rapper talks about Stefan Raab and the incident.

It’s no secret that Stefan Raab likes to provoke and doesn’t pull any punches when it comes to personalities. That was already the case in the 90s, when Raab got into a fight with one of the most famous rappers in Germany at the time, Moses Pelham – who recently talked about his encounter with Raab.

Stefan Raab met Moses P for the first time on Vivasion.

When Stefan Raab started Vivasion in 1993, he invited a wide variety of music stars to his show. More than 30 years ago, Raab was much more energetic and rebellious on VIVA than he is today. Not everyone liked that, especially not Moses Pelham, who was also a guest on Raab.

Moses P. was interviewed by Raab because of his success with the Rödelheim Hartreim Projekt. However, the rapper later spoke negatively about the interview, which prompted Raab to make fun of him even more. In classic Raab style, he called on his viewers to send him severed heads by post for his show. This did not go down well with Moses P. and would have consequences.

The situation escalated at the 1997 Echo Awards

In 1997, Stefan Raab and Moses P. attended the Echo Awards, where Raab was honored as best producer. After the ceremony, Moses P. waited for the entertainer and broke Raab’s nose with a headbutt. According to Moses P., he was provoked into the outburst by the entertainer.

But the violent outburst had consequences for the rapper: Raab was out of action for several weeks and subsequently sued Moses P. for damages. Stefan Raab won the case and received 10,000 German Marks in damages from Moses P. In addition, the rapper had to pay an additional 40,000 German Marks in fines.

After 28 years, Moses P. comments on the incident

Moses Pelham was recently interviewed in detail by Spiegel. When asked, the rapper explained that he has not reconciled with Raab to this day. The interviewer confronted Moses P. with the following statement that he made at the time:

The fact that I slapped him was a sign of my vulnerability and one hundred percent correct at the moment.

Moses P. still stands by this statement today. If Raab came to him, he would perhaps be reconciled with him. “We will have to forgive each other. All of us,” says the rapper at the end of the interview.
