A thriller series is taking Netflix by storm that will remind many of the masterpiece Succession. Only with more bloodshed and exploding boats.
Family can sometimes be a real burden. This insight is at the core of the series masterpiece Succession and plays a role in many other great stories on streaming services. This is also the case in the Netflix hit Medusa: in this thriller series, a young businesswoman tries to solve the attack on her life. And the first people to be suspected are her dear relatives.
Medusa on Netflix unleashes a family war with exploding yachts
Medusa revolves around an assassination attempt: Bárbara Hidalgo (Juana Acosta) is part of the powerful Colombian Hidalgo family, whose corporation has a great deal of international influence. She is soon to take over as managing director when an event throws her completely off track. During an excursion, her yacht explodes.
At first, Bárbara disappears as a result, but soon reappears with memory gaps. The investigator Danger Carmelo (Manolo Cardona) is supposed to solve the case. Many of her relatives would have reasons to want to kill the young woman out of greed for power and personal reasons. As she slowly regains her memory, she begins to see herself in a new light.

Medusa so far includes 12 episodes, each lasting about 40 minutes. The Colombian series launched on Netflix on March 5. It is not yet known whether there will be a second season: an official renewal of the series is still pending. However, continued Netflix success will drastically increase the chances of a sequel.
