Summer House of Normal People: Why Vanessa took part in the show
Vanessa came to Das Sommerhaus der Normalos with a reality TV career plan: she wants to be the next big reality star. Fans repeatedly criticized the contestant for only participating in the show for the exposure. But were those really the real reasons behind her participation? Actually, yes. She herself revealed in the after-show podcast on RTL+ why the couple applied for Das Sommerhaus:
I would say quite clearly that we wanted to achieve a certain level of fame. We had thought about how we could earn more money or perhaps gain more independence and flexibility in life. […] We just wanted to open new doors and maybe get away from the 9-to-5 job.
For Vanessa, the main goal is to gain a foothold in the industry and be able to do other formats. Richard sees things a little differently:
My intention was more for you, I’d say. It was your plan to go in there. I was also into the games and wanted to support you. But I wouldn’t have applied myself.
