Something also likes to eat him up in his upcoming animal horror film “Beast – Hunters Without Mercy” – and that is a wild lion. And the first trailer from Universal Pictures doesn’t bode well for the poor souls who venture into the killing machine’s territory:
“Beast – Hunter Without Mercy” is not Elba’s first foray into the horror genre. In the 2010s in particular, he made appearances in such scary works as “The Reaping – The Messengers of the Apocalypse”, “28 Weeks Later” and “The Unborn”. But he hasn’t tangled with an animal opponent yet either. The trailer suggests that it won’t be pure carnage, but a psychological duel between the lion and the humans, who are only protected from its attacks by the sheet metal of their car. But for how long?
“Beast – Hunter Without Mercy”: This is the plot
Dr. Nate Daniels (Idris Elba) is in mourning, having recently lost his wife. In order to bring himself and his daughters Norah and Meredith (Leah Jeffries and Iyana Halley) to other thoughts, they fly together to South Africa, where he had met his deceased wife. Martin Battles (Sharlto Copley) a wildlife biologist and an old family friend, invites them to go on safari with him. But instead of gaining strength, the Daniels very soon have to fight for their naked survival when they come across a lion that preys on all humans.
“Beast – Hunters Without Mercy” opens in cinemas here from 25 August 2022 and shows: The Lion King can also be different.
