Nancy Stokes (Emma Thompson) was involved with her husband for over thirty years, but two years after his death she wants to let off steam sexually. To do so, she hires callboy Leo Grande (Daryl McCormack), with whom she meets for one night in a secluded hotel room on the outskirts of town to work off her list of sexual cravings.
The callboy not only turns out to be extremely attractive, but can always counter the former teacher and turns out to be a good conversationalist. One night turns into several lovemaking sessions, Nancy finally wants to experience her first orgasm in life. Soon the two take a liking to each other, which changes the power dynamic between them considerably but paves the way to self-determination and their own physical desires.

The intimate and warm-hearted comedy stars Oscar winner Emma Thompson (“Love Actually”) and newcomer Daryl McCormack (“The Wheel of Time”) in the two leading roles. The comedy was directed by Sophie Hyde (“Animals”), who celebrated the world premiere of the film at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival.
Screenwriter Katy Brand worked on the script in 2020 and wrote the role of Nancy with Emma Thompson in mind, the two worked together on “An Enchanting Nanny”. Even before director Hyde was involved, Emma Thompson joined the project. Filming finally took place in spring 2021.
In Germany, the gala premiere took place out of competition as part of the Berlinale 2022. In this country, “My Hours with Leo” will be released in cinemas on 14 July 2022. The FSK rating from the age of 12 is also fixed.
