As best friends, Superdog Krypto (originally Dwayne Johnson) and his master Superman (John Krasinski) save Metropolis from the attacks of villains and criminals. Blessed with equal superpowers, Krypto is in no way inferior to his human partner. But when Superman and the entire Justice League fall into the clutches of villain Lex Luthor (Marc Maron), it is up to Krypto to free the heroes and heroines.

He finds unexpected help in dog Ace (Kevin Hart), pot-bellied PB (Vanessa Bayer), turtle Merton (Natasha Lyonne) and squirrel Chip (Diego Luna), who all develop superpowers. Ace becomes super strong and invulnerable, PB grows bigger on demand, Merton is suddenly lightning fast and Chip has electrical powers. The motley crew of pets must first prove themselves to save humanity from worse.

The pets from the animated film “DC League of Super-Pets” are loosely based on the comic book template, where super-powered DC pets united in the “Legion of Super-Pets”. Probably the best-known character is Krypto, the super-dog, who made his comic debut in 1955 and has been helping Superman on his adventures as a pet ever since.

The original version stars Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Diego Luna, Natasha Lyonne and Vanessa Bayer in the main roles. In the German dubbing you can hear stars like Torsten Sträter, comedienne Tahnee and Emilia Schüle.

On 28 July 2022, you can get ready for some animal superheroine fun when “DC League of Super-Pets” opens in cinemas. The age rating has not yet been determined.
