At 26, Élise (Marion Barbeau) is on the verge of her lifelong dream. She has been an enthusiastic ballet dancer since childhood and is on the verge of being hired as a prima ballerina. But as beautiful as the sport is, it is also fleeting when she seriously injures herself during a jump.
Her doctor gives her a long ban from sport, which could possibly last up to two years. At first, Élise’s life is in ruins, but thanks to her family, friends and a change of scenery to Brittany, she discovers other aspects of life that give her new courage.

Director Cédric Klapitsch (“L’auberge Espagnole” trilogy) is not only known in France. In his latest film, the life of a prima ballerina takes unexpected paths when she has to leave the sport behind.
With dancer Marion Barbeau in the leading role and Pio Marmaï (“The Wine and the Wind”) and François Civil (“Alone Together”) in other roles, the film “Life is a Dance” was made. In France, the drama has already become a hit with the public. In Germany, the film will be released in cinemas on 8 September 2022.
