With The School for Good and Evil, Netflix introduces its own Harry Potter. Once again, the battle between good and evil arises at a magical school. We have the new trailer for you.
Netflix still has some promising films in store this year. In addition to the Knives Out sequel Glass Onion and the Marilyn Monroe biopic Blond, they include the fantasy epic The School for Good and Evil. The film adaptation of the novel of the same name arrives on the streaming service in October.
To mark the occasion, a new trailer has now been released, giving us a closer look at the story and its characters. At the centre of the events is young Sophie (Sophia Anne Caruso), who is taught at the titular school. However, it seems she has internalised the wrong texts from the library.
The Netflix trailer for The School for Good and Evil
Originally, Sophie was supposed to be trained to be a hero at the School of Good and Evil. However, as it turns out, she has very different tendencies. Little by little, evil takes control in the Paul Feig-directed fantasy blockbuster, which premieres on Netflix on 19 October 2022.
The School for God and Evil is based on the debut novel by Soman Chainani from 2013, which is the prelude to an entire fantasy series. Netflix is clearly pursuing the intention of creating its own Harry Potter here.
