The well-protected marmoset Passepartout has dreamed of a great adventure since childhood, but has always had to bow to the wishes of his caring mother. When he meets the greedy frog Phileas Frogg, a crazy bet develops between the unequal duo. The one who manages to travel around the world in 80 days is to get ten million shells.
However, the bad-tempered gerbil, Inspector Fix, could thwart the explorer’s plans. The inspector has had it in for Phileas for some time and wants to arrest him. A crazy and adventurous journey around the globe begins, which holds some big surprises but also new acquaintances for the two. In the end, of course, the question remains open as to who will emerge as the winner of the bet and whether it is possible to circumnavigate the globe in 80 days.

Based on the 1873 classic by Jules Verne “Around the World in 80 Days”, the main characters of the adventure novel around eccentric Phileas Fogg, servant Jean Passepartout and Mister Fix are transformed into animals for the animated film by director Samuel Tourneux. Phileas is a frog, Passepartout a well-read monkey and Mister Fix becomes a gerbil.
The French animated film was directed by Samuel Tourneux and nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Animated Short Film in 2008. The world premiere of “Around the World in 80 Days” took place at the renowned animation film festival in Annecy 2021. From 3 February 2022, the animated fun for young and old can be marvelled at in German cinemas and is released without age restriction from 0 years.
