Film plot and background

French feel-good comedy about an excellent cook who suddenly has to work with teenagers.

As a sous chef, Cathy (Audrey Lamy) knows excellent palates. She has been dreaming of opening her own restaurant for quite some time, but not only her current boss, but also dear money stand in her way of fulfilling her big dream. When she is once again put in her place by the head chef, she quits her old job and wants to look for another one. But this time it is to be a job as a chef.

After numerous job interviews and applications that are nipped in the bud, she finally ends up with Lorenzo Cardi (François Cluzet). He runs a home for underage refugees waiting for papers. Cathy would be a chef there – in a run-down canteen. Canned ravioli is on the menu, mould is rampant in the pantry. It is nothing less than culinary hell. But Cathy makes the best of the precarious situation. She integrates the refugees herself, who are willing to take lessons, and teaches them the basics of a clean kitchen and cooking. And along the way, she rediscovers her love for good food from her own garden.
