Film plot and background

Biopic about the 2015 Paris terrorist attacks and the five-day police effort to apprehend the culprits.

It was supposed to be a rollicking start to the weekend when, on Friday 13 November 2015, people in Paris went to either a metal concert at the Bataclan, a café or a friendly international match between the French and German football teams at the Stade de France. But on this evening, the situation in the city changes from one moment to the next. Targeted terrorist attacks kill 130 people, injure 683 and traumatise thousands.

The terrorist organisation “Islamic State” quickly claims responsibility for the attacks, but in order to arrest the perpetrators, the French Anti-Terrorism Department, also known as SDAT, comes on the scene. Under its leader Fred (Jean Dujardin), the team has to catch the perpetrators in cooperation with the CIA. Their work is watched with suspicion by the population. Thanks to the intuition of young Ines (Anaïs Demoustier), they are able to track down two of the terrorists after five days – one of them is even the main mastermind behind the attacks.
