“Barbarians” is a German Netflix series that is also attracting a lot of international attention and appeals especially to fans of Norse epics like “Vikings” or “The Northman”. Now there is finally the trailer for season 2, which starts in October.
Historical material dealing with the feuds and battles of barbarian tribes has enjoyed great popularity in recent years. This was not only due to the series mega-hit “Vikings”, which ended in 2020 after six seasons and whose successor “Vikings: Valhalla” has already been launched on Netflix. Often, however, such series or even films like the movie “The Northman”, which was released in April, revolve around the Scandinavian Norsemen. The Germanic tribes, on the other hand, receive much less attention in pop culture. But “Barbarians” has proved that this need not be any less interesting. In the first four weeks after its release alone, 37 million households worldwide watched the dramatic treatment of the battle in the Teutoburg Forest – not even “Dark” managed that!
Almost two years to the day after the “Barbarians” debut, all six episodes of the second season will finally be released exclusively on Netflix on 21 October 2022. We have included the first trailer for you above. As you can see, there are again plenty of bloody fights, but diplomatic negotiations also play a role.
