In 1978, serial killer Michael Myers first preyed on his victims. In the small town of Haddonfield, he killed many innocent people, but one person was able to fight back: Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis). After Strode and Myers last clashed in the direct sequel “Halloween” in 2018, we have to be prepared for more bloodshed in “Halloween Kills”.
“Halloween Kills” marks the heart of the young horror trilogy in 2021 before the brilliant ending “Halloween Ends” just one year later in 2022. Once again on board are Laurie’s family, daughter Karen Nelson (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson Nelson (Andi Matichak), who also survived a direct confrontation with Michael Myers.

Characters from the original film return
For the first time in the “Halloween” series, we will learn that Laurie Strode wasn’t the only one to receive post-traumatic experiences from her encounters with Michael Myers. In the original film, she babysat children Tommy Doyle and Lindsey Wallace. In “Halloween Kills” we see the children of yesteryear as adults for the first time. Tommy Doyle is portrayed by Anthony Michael Hall. Lindsey Wallace, on the other hand, is mimed by the same actress as back then: Kyle Richards.
There will also be a reunion with Lonnie Elam, who played a boy who teased Tommy in the original film. Robert Longstreet will portray him in “Halloween Kills”.
“Halloween Kills”, like its predecessor “Halloween” (2018) and successor “Halloween Ends” (2022), will be directed by David Gordon Green (“Stronger”). Horror veteran and “Halloween” creator John Carpenter is on hand as executive producer.
“Halloween Kills”: FSK and theatrical release
It’s almost become a tradition for “Halloween” movies to hit theatres just in time for the spookiest holiday of the year. “Halloween Kills” is no exception. On 21 October 2021, the now 13th “Halloween” film will open in German cinemas, one year after the planned date, which was postponed due to the ongoing worldwide Corona pandemic.
Chronologically, “Halloween Kills” joins “Halloween” (1978) and “Halloween” (2018), ignoring the other spin-offs. The age rating of “Halloween Kills” is again high: The horror film was given an FSK 18.
