One Piece Movie: Red: 14th film in the “One Piece” franchise, which includes an anime series in addition to the manga series.
Film plot and background
14th film in the “One Piece” franchise, which includes an anime series in addition to the manga series.
Princess Uta is to give her first concert on the musical island of Elegia. With her angelic, “otherworldly” voice and her fiery red curls, the world-famous singing diva has captivated the world since the beginning of her career. Accordingly, many fans have flocked to Elegia: Besides the Straw Hat Gang, quite a few other pirates and even the navy took the long way to hear Uta sing live. But when Ruffy reveals that she is the daughter of pirate emperor Redshanks – from whom, by the way, Ruffy received his distinctive straw hat – the tide turns. The enthusiasm gives way to a wave of shock.
But Uta is guarding another secret from her past that poses just as many riddles as the “new era” of which Uta sings. Convinced that her songs will spread happiness and peace, a fierce battle for Princess Uta breaks out that threatens to push not only Ruffy to his limits. Can he save his childhood friend from a gruesome fate and thus save the world? Or is it even Uta’s voice that could drive the sea with all its islands into eternal captivity?
“One Piece Movie: Red”: Well-known dubbing voices and a J-pop star
Whoever plans to watch “One Piece Film: Red” in the German dub instead of the original sound with subtitles can look forward to the familiar dubbing voices from the “One Piece” series. Among others, Daniel Schlauch will be heard as Monkey D. Ruffy, while Martin Halm lends his voice to the character Shanks. Stephanie Kellner will take over the voice part of Nami, and we will hear Uwe Thomsen as Zorro.
While Uta is spoken by Zina Laus in the German dubbed version, the songs written especially for the film remain in the original Japanese sound, and not without reason: none other than the award-winning J-pop musician Ado takes over the singing part of the princess.
“One Piece Film: Red” cinema release in Germany
