We honestly didn’t expect this anymore: In the finale of the Marvel series “She-Hulk” there will be a rematch between Bruce Banner’s Hulk and Abomination! This has now been revealed in the trailer for episode 9, which will be released on Disney+ on 13 October 2022.
Who would have thought that Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), who left for space in episode 1, would return for the “She-Hulk” finale and then do battle with Emil Blonsky (Tim Roth)? We certainly wouldn’t. But the trailer for the (for now) final episode of the Marvel series on Disney+ now clearly shows a fight we last saw in 2008’s “The Incredible Hulk”: There will be a rematch between Hulk and Abomination!

The above trailer, which has been circulating on the net for some time and has now also been posted by the official Twitter page of “She-Hulk: The Lawyer”, shows mostly old scenes that we have already seen in the previous eight episodes. However, two shots of Bruce Banner’s Hulk are new. The first of these is about a second long and shows the green Avenger rising from some wooden debris while letting out an angry scream. The mere fact that the Hulk is returning for the Marvel series finale would be newsworthy, but that’s not even the most interesting thing about the clip.
WHY ARE HULK AND ABOMINATION FIGHTING IN THE “SHE-HULK” FINALE?
As seen for just a split second at the end of the teaser, the Hulk engages in a fist fight with Abomination. After 14 years, there is another duel between the two, but under completely different circumstances. After all, Bruce Banner and Emil Blonsky have both learned to deal with their monstrous alter egos by now. They are no longer blindly raging beasts and seem to have come to terms with their inglorious past.
Or, in the case of Emil Blonsky, was that just a nasty ploy? Maybe he is still the old meanie after all, even if we really don’t want to believe that, after all, his performance as a self-help guru in episode 7 was just too convincing.
Maybe it’s just some kind of show fight or Bruce Banner still has emotional problems and Blonsky helps him fix them by means of confrontation therapy, though that would be a strange subplot for a finale. So we are curious to see what explanation the MCU series will give us soon….
“She-Hulk” episode 9 will be released on Disney+ on 13 October 2022. It will be the finale of the first season. It is not yet known whether a season 2 will be released after that.
