The thriller series “The Watcher” by “Dahmer” creator Ryan Murphy starts on Netflix this week. Plus, “Stranger Things” star Priah Ferguson faces off against an army of Halloween creatures. Find out what else is in store for you here.

As we do every Sunday, we provide you with an overview of the hottest new Netflix releases of the coming week, broken down by the individual days of the week. However, there is not too much to report this time. In the next seven days, there will be fewer interesting films and series than almost ever before on the streaming service. Of course, we will point out the few highlights nonetheless.

MONDAY: ADVENTURES FOR THE LITTLE ONES

On Monday starts “Spirit Rangers”, an animated series for children about three siblings who can turn into magical animals. Otherwise, we are not aware of any Netflix reboots on this day.

TUESDAY: WOLVES AND MARITAL CRISES

On Tuesday, you’ll only be happy if you think wolves are cool or want to see dysfunctional marriages. So you can expect the docu-series “The Island of Coastal Wolves”, the comedy series “The Cage” about a marriage counsellor who can’t even get a handle on his relationship with his own wife, and the RomCom “The Borrowed Wife” about a guy who hires an actress to pose as his life partner so he won’t be cut out of his mother’s will.

WEDNESDAY: CRIME CASES IN MEXICO

The series “Belascoarán, Private Detective” is about a man who quits his job to solve crimes professionally, in Mexico City in the 1970s. That’s all there is to see on Wednesday.

THURSDAY: THE “DAHMER” MAKER’S NEW SERIES

On Thursday, things get really exciting for the first time. With “The Watcher”, the new series by “Dahmer” co-creator Ryan Murphy will be launched. But to reduce the six-time Emmy winner to the current Netflix mega-hit is a bit short-sighted. After all, he is one of the most respected series producers around and, together with his collaborator Brad Falchuk, has also created popular hits and critics’ favourites such as “Glee”, “American Horror Story” and “Pose”.

Like “Dahmer”, “The Watcher” is based on a true story: a married couple move into their dream home in an idyllic suburb, but are then terrorised by an anonymous watcher.

Also starting on Thursday is the sci-fi horror anime “Exception,” Season 2 of the animated series “Dead End: Paranormal Park” and “The Playlist,” a series that retells the origin story of the popular music streaming service Spotify.

FRIDAY: SCARY COMEDY WITH “STRANGER THINGS” STAR

In “Stranger Things” Priah Ferguson may only play a fairly small supporting role as Lucas Sinclair’s sister Erica, but with her brash demeanour she pulls the action together time and time again. Now Netflix is giving her her own scary adventure alongside Marlon Wayans (“Scary Movie”). In “The Curse Of The Bridge Hollow”, all the fancy Halloween decorations in the neighbourhood come to life and the two must therefore fight off skeletons, zombies and horror clowns while trying to stop the ghost that caused it all.

On Friday there are also some more new releases, for example the documentary “Dear Future Children”. On the series front, “For the Fighters, For the Crazy Ones” and the second season of “Mismatched” launch.

SAMDAY & SUNDAY: NOTHING NEW AT NETFLIX

Nothing new worth mentioning awaits us at Netflix this weekend. So how about a modern classic of action cinema, which our author Lars-Christian Daniels recently presented in detail?
