Film plot and background

Gay RomCom starring Billy Eichner from the creators behind “Dating Queen”

Bobby (Billy Eichner) knows exactly what he wants out of life. As a single gay man, he is completely absorbed in his role at the LGBTQ+ museum that is about to open. With no time for other social commitments, he prefers to stay single – until he meets Aaron (Luke Macfarlane) at a gay party. Not only is he immediately taken with his well-toned body, the more time they spend together, the more Bobby notices how quickly Aaron turns his head. But the stressful everyday life could already nip anything lasting in the bud. Could the first attraction turn into not only a bedtime story, but also love and even a relationship for life?

The adorable trailer shows you the different lives of Bobby and Aaron:

“Bros” – background, cast, cinema release

With “Bros”, the film studio Universal Pictures makes history and for the first time puts a gay couple in the focus of a romantic comedy by one of the biggest film studios in the USA. Director Nicholas Stoller (“Bad Neighbors”) is responsible for the film, which is peppered with smart jokes and always has its heart in the right place. Together with leading actor Billy Eichner (“The Lion King” 2019), he wrote the screenplay for the gay romcom. As producers, Judd Apatow (“Dating Queen”) and Joshua Church (“Step Brothers”) are also on board as comedy and romcom experts.

The cast is peppered with stars from the LGBTQ scene: first and foremost Billy Eichner, of course, but Luke Macfarlane (“Brothers & Sisters”), Guillermo Díaz (“Uncoupled”), Monica Raymund (“Chicago Fire”), Jim Rash (“Community”), Dot-Marie Jones (“Glee”) and Harvey Fierstein (“Mrs. Doubtfire”) also grace the screen.

Raise the rainbow flag: On 27 October 2022, the gay romcom “Bros” will be released in German cinemas. An FSK rating has not yet been set.
