Film plot and background

In the sequel to the animated film “The Boss Baby”, Tim has a new adventure with the enterprising baby, voiced by Alec Baldwin.

In the first part, seven-year-old Tim Templeton had to be quite amazed when a baby in a suit and tie stood in front of him one day. The Boss Baby (voiced by Alec Baldwin in the original) could even talk and had been infiltrated into Tim’s family by the secret Baby Corp. to prevent adults from finding puppies cuter than babies. During their adventure together, a real friendship developed between Tim and the Boss Baby.

The second part takes place a few years later, Tim is now the proud father of two daughters and Ted is a successful businessman. The brothers are astonished when Baby Tina also reveals herself as an agent of Baby Corp. She gets straight to the point: a new threat is approaching, because a mad scientist wants to breed a generation of super evil babies. To prevent this, Ted and Tim must turn back into babies and go undercover. They don’t have much time, because the transformation only lasts 48 hours. Will they manage to take out Dr. Armstrong in time?

“Boss Baby 2” – background and cinema release

Directed by Tom McGrath, the animated film “The Boss Baby” has become a bit of a bonanza. Loosely based on the picture book of the same name by Marla Frazee, the DreamWorks film told the story of what babies actually do when no one is looking. In fact, they live in a super serious baby world. The scenario was enthusiastically received worldwide and grossed almost 530 million US dollars in 2017. Reason enough to consider a sequel.

“The Boss Baby 2” was once again directed by Tom McGrath (“Madagascar”), and Michael McCullers is once again responsible for the screenplay adaptation. The original cast is also used for the dubbing voices, but there are a few more new voices in the German version: Klaus-Dieter Klebsch once again voices Boss Baby, while Irina von Bentheim dubs Baby Tina. Youtuber Sally Özcan and her daughter Samira lend their voices to mother Carol and older daughter Tabitha.

The sequel “Boss Baby – Schluss mit Kindergarten”, as the film is called in its full title, opens in German cinemas on 14 October 2021. The FSK age rating classifies the comedy from 6 years upwards.
