HBO Max has released the first A Christmas Story Christmas teaser trailer for HBO Max’s upcoming sequel to the 1983 holiday film. The video teases the return of lead star Peter Billingsley as he reprises his iconic role as Ralphie. The film will be available for streaming on November 17.
A Christmas Story Christmas is directed by Clay Kaytis (The Christmas Chronicles) from a screenplay written by Nick Schenk. Joining Billingsley are returning cast members Ian Petrella, Zack Ward, Scott Schwartz, and R.D. Robb. They will be joined by new cast members Julie Hagerty, Erinn Hayes, and more.
“The sequel follows an adult Ralphie in the 1970s, who returns to the house on Cleveland Street to deliver his kids a magical Christmas like the one he had growing up,” reads the synopsis. “With the same attention to real-life tone of the first, Ralphie reconnects with childhood friends, reconciles the passing of his Old Man, and sews the seeds for the origins of the beloved holiday classic.”
