Prime Video has released the first teaser trailer for Three Pines, the upcoming mystery thriller drama starring Emmy nominee Alfred Molina. The series will be available for streaming in December.
The video introduces Molina’s Chief Inspector Armand Gamache as he is enlisted to investigate a surprising multiple murder case in the idyllic titular town, where everything seems to be perfectly ordinary.
Three Pines is based on Canadian author Louise Penny’s crime novel series centered around Chief Inspector Gamache. Joining Molina are Rossif Sutherland, Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers, Tantoo Cardinal, Clare Coulter, Sarah Booth, Anna Tierney, Julian Bailey, Frédéric-Antoine Guimond, Pierre Simpson, Tamara Brown, Marie-France Lambert, Frank Schorpion, Marcel Jeannin, Georgina Lynn Lightning, Crystle Lightning, Isabel Deroy-Olson, and Anna Lambe.
“The series follows Chief Inspector Armand Gamache of the Sûreté du Québec, a man who sees things that others do not: the light between the cracks, the mythic in the mundane, and the evil in the seemingly ordinary,” reads the synopsis. “As he investigates a spate of murders in Three Pines, a seemingly idyllic village, he discovers long-buried secrets and faces a few of his own ghosts.”
Three Pines hails from Amazon Studios and Left Bank Pictures. Executive producers are Molina, Andy Harries, Sharon Hughff, John Phillips, Sam Donovan, and head writer Emilia di Girolamo. Catherine Tregenna wrote two additional episodes, with Sam Donovan, Tracey Deer, and Daniel Grou directing. It is produced by John Griffin, while Tracey Deer and Katsitsionni Melissa Fox serve as Indigenous consultants. IllumiNative is also consulting on the series.
