Cruising with Dracula
The Transylvania Hotel is buzzing with activity. Father Drakula (voiced in German by Rick Kavanian) is quite exhausted and it’s time to finally go on holiday himself. Daughter Mavis (Janina Uhse) surprises the whole family and books a relaxing luxury cruise. But despite the pool, delicious buffet and spa, father Drakula just doesn’t want to enjoy himself. Unfortunately, grandfather Vlad (Dieter Hallervorden) is also on board.
While Drakula grumbles, Mavis and husband Johnny (in the original: Andy Samberg) enjoy the holiday together with son Dennis. Of course, the rest of the monster family is not to be missed: Frankenstein, the Mummy, Wayne the Werewolf and the Invisible Man experience all kinds of adventures on board. And Drakula slowly thaws out when he meets Captain Ericka (newcomer: Anke Engelke) and is immediately taken with her canines. But in fact Ericka is keeping a dark secret.
“Hotel Transylvania 3 – A Monster Holiday” – Theatrical Release
Three years fans had to wait for a sequel to the successful animated film series around the likeable monster family. In 2018, the time has finally come. “Hotel Transylvania 3 – A Monster Holiday” opens in German cinemas on 19 July 2018.
The “Hotel Transylvania” film series
Director Genndy Tartakovsky has created a charming animated franchise for the whole family with “Hotel Transylvania” and “Hotel Transylvania 2”. Both films were convincing at the box office and each grossed more than 300 million dollars. The first part was also nominated for a Golden Globe as best animated film.
The first part was still about the relationship between Mavis and Johnny and the titular hotel. In the second part, Mavis and Johnny have started a family. However, because their child Dennis was not a real vampire, he was supposed to get a monster crash course from Drakula. In the third part, the big monster family finally goes on a well-deserved holiday. Directed again by Genndy Tartakovsky, who wrote the script together with Michael McCullers (“The Boss Baby”).
“Hotel Transylvania 3 – A Monster Holiday” – Voice actors
The hit trilogy “Hotel Transylvania” has always scored with excellent dubbing voices so far. In the English original, all the voice actors around Adam Sandler (“Pixels”) and Selena Gomez (“The Muppets”) are united again. The German dubbing voices have changed in the past. This time, too, there are new additions. Janina Uhse (“GZSZ”) speaks Mavis and Anke Engelke (“Finding Dory”) will guard a dangerous secret as Captain Ericka. In the third part we can also look forward to Rick Kanavian (“Jim Knopf & Lukas der Lokomotivführer”) as Count Drakula and Dieter Hallervorden (“Rock My Heart”) as the original vampire Vlad.
