The month is coming to an end. And once again, that means a big shake-up of the film and series line-up on Netflix. Before new titles are added in November, many older ones disappear – which is particularly unfortunate in one case
Every month, Netflix users can look forward to lots of new content on the streaming platform. Especially at the beginning of the month, there is always a concentrated load of films and series. The downside: to make room for the new content, numerous licensed titles are first thrown out of the programme. This results in sometimes very bitter, sometimes bearable losses for the Netflix portfolio.
In the transition from October to November, the sadness for the majority of the disappearing films should fortunately be limited, with one very fat exception. We’ll give you an overview of these and the remaining big titles, as well as other highlights, so you can still watch them in time, after all, there are only a few days left to do so.
The following films and series are all only available on Netflix until 31 October 2022 inclusive.
MASTERPIECE: “L.A. CONFIDENTIAL “
If you can only find time for one of these films in the coming days, then you should definitely go for “L.A. Confidential”. The masterful neo-noir thriller has received the full 5 stars in the FILMSTARTS review, making it one of the best films of all time for us. The abysmal story about a gruesome multiple murder and the thoroughly corrupt police of 1950s Los Angeles impresses with its cleverly interwoven and twisty story, an atmosphere to cut through and the star cast around Russell Crowe, Guy Pearce, Kevin Spacey, Kim Basinger and Danny DeVito who are on top form. An absolute must for all film fans!
HORROR: “INSIDIOUS 2 & 3”
Horror fans with a Netflix subscription, meanwhile, will have to say goodbye to “Insidious: Chapter 2” and “Insidious: Chapter 3.” The sequel and prequel to the ghostly horror from “Conjuring” and “Saw” maker James Wan are not as strong as the series opener, but nevertheless (and in contrast to the unsuccessful fourth part) offer a beautifully gruesome addition to the first film.
ACTION WITH THE TRANSFORMERS, LIAM NEESON AND AN ALL-STAR CAST
In terms of action, the Netflix offer at the end of October also has to make some concessions. There are no real highlights worth watching here, but if you’ve always wanted to watch the at least halfway fun sequels “Transformers 2”, “Transformers 3” and “Transformers 5: The Last Knight”, you should get on it. The same goes for the Liam Neeson berserker show “96 Hours – Taken 2”.
And “The Expendables 3” is also out, for which we wouldn’t give a recommendation per se (it is, after all, the weakest part of the series), but which at least adds the big names Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes and Antonio Banderas to the already impressive star ensemble around Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jason Statham and, of course, can’t do any harm as preparation for “The Expendables 4”, which starts in 2023.
