In 3 days, an ultra-brutal medieval actioner with Til

“Medieval” is the most expensive film in Czech cinema history and is already launching in 3 days directly on Netflix! If you want to see how Til Schweiger does in the fight against Ben Foster, you should not miss this actioner.

With a production cost of 500 million crowns (about 20.5 million euros), the historical battle platter “Medieval” is the most expensive film in Czech cinema history. It tells the story of the national hero Jan Žižka (1360 – 1424), one of the greatest generals of his homeland. While “Medieval” was already released in the USA and the Czech Republic at the beginning of September, the prominently cast slaughtering orgy will be streamable directly on Netflix in our country – and that in just 3 days!

Director Petr Jákl assembled an illustrious international cast in front of the camera – above all Ben Foster. The “Death Train to Yuma” star heads the cast list and gets to bash heads with two-time Oscar winner Michael Caine (“The Dark Knight”) and German mumblecore veteran Til Schweiger (“Keinohrhasen”), among others.

Besides the big international stars, Petr Jákl was also able to attract some local stars, including Czech acting veteran Karel Roden (“Hellboy”) and Olympic decathlon champion and former world record holder Roman Šebrle.

THIS IS WHAT “MEDIEVAL “

IS ALL ABOUT.

At the end of the 14th century, the Kingdom of Bohemia is in danger of collapsing under the weak rule of Wenceslas IV (Karel Roden). Heinrich III von Rosenberg (Til Schweiger) senses the rising unrest in the country and arbitrarily seizes more and more property of the lower nobility for himself. But not everyone is prepared to submit to the power-hungry tyrant without a fight: The mercenary Jan Žižka (Ben Foster) begins to rebel against the upstart and is even prepared to give his own life for it.

When Heinrich III von Rosenberg then has his family executed, Jan Žižka swears revenge – and it is to be bloody and painful. He receives help for his revenge plan from an unexpected source: Catherine (Sophie Lowe), the fiancée of the despot, has fallen in love with the agitating warrior and provides Jan Žižka with secret information about a plot that Heinrich III von Rosenberg is planning against the king.
