Santa Clause” with Tim Allen was a hit not only in the States but also in Germany. After there have already been two sequels in the cinema, a “Santa Clause” series awaits you from today onwards in the Disney Plus subscription.
Alongside “Beautiful Christmas”, “Kevin – Home Alone”, “Nightmare Before Christmas” and “A Promise is a Promise”, “Santa – Clause – A Beautiful Christmas” is certainly one of the family-friendly Christmas film highlights of the 1990s. Lead actor Tim Allen, who was at the zenith of his popularity at the time, slipped into the role of the grouchy workaholic Scott Calvin, who becomes Santa Claus himself after an accident. Worldwide, the turbulent and warm-hearted Christmas comedy grossed 190 million US dollars, which, with a budget of 22 million dollars, quickly made a sequel an issue.
This was to follow six years later with “Santa Clause 2 – An Even Nicer Christmas” and, just like the 2006 “Santa Clause 3 – A Frosty Christmas”, was also able to make a decent amount of money. Since then, it has been quiet around Scott Calvin, Father Christmas against his will, who only understood what the winter holidays are really about through his son Charlie (Eric Llyod). With “Santa Clause – The Series”, a – as the title says – series sequel to the cult series is available on Disney+ from today. And this time Christmas is really on the line!

Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) has been Father Christmas for almost three decades now and still pursues his profession with heart and soul. But Christmas obligations and his family are difficult to reconcile, even after all these years. In addition, he is becoming increasingly unpopular as Father Christmas, which means that the Christmas magic is slowly fading. For Scott, there is only one way out:
He must find a successor as quickly as possible to get the Christmas fire burning again. But this project involves a lot of work, because finding a worthy person who is as conscientious and passionate about being Father Christmas as he has been for almost 30 years proves, as expected, to be extremely difficult…
“Santa Clause: The Series” consists of six episodes in which Tim Allen, of course, has taken on the leading role throughout. Also in the cast are Elizabeth Mitchell, Kal Penn, Eric Llyod, Elizabeth Allen-Dick, Matilda Lawler and Rupali Redd. By the way: On 17 November, the first episode of the “Santa Clause” series will also be shown on free TV, namely at 10 pm on the Disney Channel. Before that, “Santa Clause 3” will be broadcast here at 8:15 pm. Of course, all films are also included in the Disney+ subscription.
