Netflix has released the official trailer for Hot Skull, the upcoming Turkish sci-fi thriller drama set in a dystopian world where an epidemic spreads through verbal communication. The series will be available for streaming on December 2.
Hot Skull is based on Afşin Kum’s 2016 novel of the same name. The eight-episode series stars Osman Sonant, Şevket Çoruh, Hazal Subaşı, Tilbe Saran, Kubilay Tunçer, Özgür Emre Yıldırım, Gonca Vuslateri, Zerrin Sümer, Yetkin Dikinciler, and Hakan Gerçek.

“Set in a world shaken by an epidemic of madness that spreads through language and speech, the reclusive former linguist Murat Siyavus, having taken refuge at his mother’s home, is the only person mysteriously unaffected by this disease,” reads the synopsis. “Hunted by the ruthless Anti-Epidemic Institution, Murat is forced to leave the safe zone and flee within the flames and ruins of the streets of Istanbul, where he searches for the secret of his ‘hot skull’ — a lasting mark of the disease.”
Hot Skull is created by Mert Baykal. Additional cast includes Erdem Akakçe, Barış Yıldız, Arda Anarat, and Furkan Kalabalık, amongst others.
