Netflix has released a new trailer for Gudetama: An Eggcellent Adventure, the upcoming live-action/animated hybrid series based on the iconic Sanrio character. The series will debut on Netflix on December 13.
The trailer reveals that Soshina and Seiya, also known as the comedy duo Shimofuri Myojo, will voice the characters Guretama and Tamago Sushi, respectively. They’re joining Shunsuke Takeuchi, who is voicing Gudetama, and Seiran Fukushima, who plays Shakipiyo.

“A lethargic, empathetic road movie about finding one’s parents — for everyone who just wants to laze about,” reads the series’ synopsis. “Having resigned itself to the fact that it will just end up on someone’s plate, Gudetama just wants to be lazy all the time. But, swept up by the go-getting, overbearing chick Shakipiyo, it leaves the refrigerator and heads out into the world. Together, these polar opposites go on an adventure to find their mother!”
Gudetama: An Eggcellent Adventure is based on Gudetama, the Sanrio character created in 2013. The series will debut on Netflix on December 13.
