Le otto montagne: bestselling film adaptation about two best friends in a mountain community whose paths diverge and cross again and again.
Plot and background
In Italy’s mountain idyll, Pietro (Luca Marinelli) and Bruno (Alessandro Borghi) once became friends. After years, they meet there again. While Pietro has since discovered the world, Bruno is the only one from his generation who still lives in the small mountain village.
Both are drawn to the mountains again and again, but the question of which place makes life more worth living creates potential for conflict. For Pietro, the focus is on the massive mountains with their idyll and silence, while Bruno knows no other life and yet wavers with the question of whether urban life might not have more to offer. Fortunately, they have each found a friend for life in the other, who also helps them get over losses and fears, and provides them with an anchor in life.
