Jallikattu: A bull escaped from the slaughterhouse is pursued by merciless hunters. Action drama from India.
Plot and background
In a small Indian province in the south of the country, meat is eaten. Unlike in many other regions of the country, the people in their villages have to count on the butchers to do their job. But a mighty bull flees the slaughterhouse and makes his way through the impenetrable jungle – behind him a trail of destruction.
The men of the village take up arms and torches to drive and hunt the bull through the forest on a rainy night. Everyone would get their share of the meat, otherwise they would have to starve. Individuals develop into a huge mob that chases after the bull with all their might. Anger rises in them, their bestial side comes out – and their humanity is discarded for that night.
