Plane: Nerve-wracking action thriller in which Gerard Butler as a pilot must rescue his crew after an emergency landing.

Plot and background

Just before take-off, pilot Brodie Torrances (Gerard Butler) gets convict and suspected murderer Louis Gaspare (Mike Colter) brought aboard his plane by the FBI to be extradited. Such a prisoner transport is nothing unusual for the experienced airline pilot, but the flight goes differently than planned. During a heavy storm, the plane is struck by lightning, causing all instruments to fail. Torrances makes a daring emergency landing on a Philippine island. On the spot, however, he has to realise that the heroic landing was only the beginning. The crew finds itself in hostile territory, and when dangerous rebels take the passengers hostage, it is up to Torrance once again to save their lives. The only helper the pilot has left is the supposed criminal Louis Gaspare. Torrance wants to do everything he can to ensure the survival of the hostages and return to his daughter alive. He realises that he must rely on Gaspare to do this and discovers that there is more to the accused than meets the eye.
