With a trailer, US broadcaster NBC has announced the end of “The Blacklist”: After the 10th season, it’s over. A sad day for the fans of the series, although it will be a while before the last episodes are then released in Germany.
The tenth season of “The Blacklist” will also be the last season of the long-running hit series. US television broadcaster NBC announced this with a trailer. In a series of statements, those responsible for the series also thanked the loyal fan community for “ten years, hundreds of Blacklist cases and more than 200 episodes produced”.
In contrast to what has happened several times recently, this is not a surprise cancellation, rather “The Blacklist” is coming to an end that had been in the offing for some time. After all, the series ran for ten seasons (and not just one season, as is so often the case with Netflix). And after season 8, co-showrunner Jon Bokenkamp and leading actress Megan Boone had already left.
It has therefore been clear for some time that things will be different in “The Blacklist” season 10. The Blacklisters from the previous seasons will now hunt down Raymond Reddington (James Spader) and uncover his identity as an FBI informant.
In this, the current head villain and mastermind Marvin Gerard (Fisher Stevens) will make common cause with the Chinese spy Wujing (Chin Han), one of the first Blacklisters ever, as well as other Blacklisters. This is also hinted at in the trailer for the final season, which you can watch above.

WHEN IS “THE BLACKLIST” SEASON 10 COMING TO NETFLIX IN GERMANY?
As the trailer also reveals, the broadcast of “The Blacklist” season 10 will not start until 26 February 2023 on NBC. Originally, the release was supposed to start in January, but a look at the calendar reveals that didn’t happen. But what does that mean for the release on Netflix in Germany?
Netflix is always allowed to release the new episodes of “The Blacklist” one month after the end of the US broadcast of the complete season. Since season 10 is supposed to comprise 22 episodes as usual and the broadcast does not begin until February 2023, the finale will possibly not be shown until July 2023 – Netflix start would thus be in August 2023.
However, it has happened in the past that two episodes were shown one after the other during the broadcast of a season, and even several times. So it could be a bit quicker after all. For the time being, German “The Blacklist” fans will just have to wait and hope that it happens as quickly as possible…
