The first season was already released in November 2021, since then it has been quiet around “Hit-Monkey”. However, that doesn’t mean that’s it for the insane monkey adventure: Hulu is now working on a second season.
The superhero adventures from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) are genuine hit guarantees. Yes, some may be more successful than others, but on the whole, the comic book universe in the cinema is like a money printing machine, even after almost 15 years. While the world of heroes is also home to more and more series that are enjoying growing popularity, animated series are having a much harder time:
“Marvel’s What If…?” is going into season 2 this year, but the stop-motion format “M.O.D.O.K.” was cancelled right after the first season. But the currently perhaps most brutal and also craziest series based on a Marvel comic has now been given the green light and has been extended after more than 14 months: “Marvel’s Hit-Monkey” is getting a second season!
As confirmed via Twitter, Hulu is working on a second season of the acclaimed animated series. Of course, this was announced with a little video to get you in the mood for the return of the titular brute ape.

It is not yet known when the second season of “Hit-Monkey” will be released. So for the time being we’ll have to make do with the “coming soon” hint. Like season 1, the new episodes will probably end up on Disney+ here in Germany, while the series has its home in the USA on the streaming provider Hulu.
This makes “Hit-Monkey” the only one of once four planned animated series (later to be crossed into a fifth) to make it to season two. “M.O.D.O.K.” was cancelled after the first slew of episodes, while “Howard The Duck” and “Tigra & Dazzler” were never even made.
THIS IS “MARVEL’S HIT-MONKEY “
The madcap and saubrutal animated series centres on a Japanese snow monkey (voice in the original: Fred Tatasciore) whose tribe falls victim to a group of uncompromising gangsters in Tokyo. Driven by revenge, he has only one thing on his mind: to make the murderers of his loved ones bleed! So he sets out on the hunt…
Always at his side as a mentor is the ghost of the American hitman Bryce (Jason Sudeikis), who also perished in the massacre – and is now mysteriously inseparable from the monkey. Together they spill a lot of blood, so it doesn’t take long before the police are breathing down their necks. But the police don’t know yet whether they should fight against the Hit-Monkey or at his side…
In addition to Tatasciore and Sudeikis, Olivia Munn (“X-Men”) will be back in season 2, once again taking on the role of Akiko, the niece of the future prime minister. Leslie Jones, known from 2016’s “Ghostbusters” and “The Prince of Zamunda 2” among others, is new on board in an unknown role. Either way, we can look forward to seeing what happens next in the killer monkey saga – because this time, the titular hit monkey is heading to New York City.
