Arnold Schwarzenegger becomes a super spy for Netflix: the first trailer

by Dennis

It’s been a while since Arnold Schwarzenegger really let it rip. But with the Netflix series “Fubar” his action fans now seem to be getting their money’s worth again. Here’s the first teaser trailer:

It’s a bit sad, but the last action masterpiece with Arnold Schwarzenegger that everyone can agree on is probably James Cameron’s “True Lies” from 1994. After that, there were still genre breakers such as “Eraser”, “The 6th Day”, “Terminator 3 – Rebellion of the Machines”, “The Last Stand” or “Sabotage”. But even fans of the Styrian oak do not want to speak of milestones.

Moreover, in recent years it has become particularly thin on the ground when it comes to Arnie’s halfway usable hard-hitting fare. Apart from “Maggie” and “Vendetta”, in which Schwarzenegger tried his hand as a character actor in a thoroughly convincing way, there are action films to choose from, such as “Killing Gunther”, “Iron Mask” and “Terminator: Dark Fate”, about which one would rather cover one’s head in silence.

Now, however, Netflix seems to be doing the battered to starved Arnold Schwarzenegger fan soul a favour. With the action series “Fubar”, they want to go back to the tradition of “True Lies” and not only offer spectacle, but also prove that Arnie can still score comedic hits. The first short trailer, which has now been released, has also revealed the release date: 25 May 2023 is the date!

THIS IS “FUBAR “

The story centres on a father-daughter relationship (Arnold Schwarzenegger and Monica Barbaro). Both must gradually discover that their togetherness was built on a single lie, as not only the father but also the daughter work for the CIA. In order to get closer after all, the duo join forces to put a stop to the crime together.

“Fubar” will comprise eight episodes and deal with the family dynamics with a lot of humour and action. With this, Arnold Schwarzenegger finally gets his first own series written on his body. The cast is completed by Jay Baruchel (“This Is the End”), Fortune Feimster (“Yes Day”), Milan Carter (“Wraped!”), Travis Van Winkle (“The Last Ship”), Gabriel Luna (“The Last Of Us”), Andy Buckley (“The Office”), Aparna Brielle (“Boo, Bitch”), Barbara Eve Harris (“Prison Break”) and Fabiana Udenio (“Austin Powers”).

But that’s not all, because one highly interesting personnel is still missing: the well-known screenwriter and producer Nick Santora is responsible for “Fubar”. His previous work includes formats such as “The Sopranos”, “Law & Order”, “Prison Break”, “Lie To Me”, “Vegas”, “Scorpion” and “Reacher”.
