New this week on Netflix: even more sex in the sequel to a

by Dennis

The coming Netflix week is not only in the sense of tingling eroticism and romances, but can also come up with a lot of strong and not so strong film supply. We present the highlights of the streaming service to you.

In terms of in-house productions, Netflix doesn’t have any big new hits to offer in the next seven days (even though many people will be happy about the second season of the love triangle series “Sex/Life”), but there is a whole slew of new films at the turn of the month, of which we would like to recommend one in particular to you.

You can find out more about this and the other titles that the streaming provider is offering in the following article on the Netflix highlights of the week from 27 February to 5 March 2023, as always clearly sorted by weekday:

MONDAY: CALM BEFORE THE STORM

On Monday you still have plenty of time to work off the piled-up streaming content of the past week – or, of course, to stream the latest episode of the acclaimed video game adaptation “The Last Of Us” on WOW. Netflix, in fact, is doing without any notable new releases.

TUESDAY: REALITY AND STAND-UP

Tuesday is still quiet for film and series lovers when it comes to new releases. Unless you’re one of the many fans of the Netflix reality hype “Too Hot To Handle” aka “Finger weg!”, which is now getting a German spin-off with “Too Hot To Handle: Germany”, which is also about a group of attractive singles locked together who have to give up sex for the duration of the show in order to win prize money.

Stand-up fans can also look forward to the new programme by British comedy star Jamie Demetriou, who takes us musically through the phases of life in “A Whole Life Time”.

WEDNESDAY: NEW MONTH, NEW MOVIES

For the first of the new month, Netflix once again presents you with a colourful bouquet of very different films – from the worthwhile documentary “Merkel – Macht der Freiheit” and the Ruhrpott cult comedy “Was nicht passt, wird passend gemacht” (What doesn’t fit is made to fit) to the animated adventure “Ritter Trenk” (Knight Trenk) and the star-studded (but not particularly successful) bestseller adaptation “The Circle” to the action blockbuster “G. I. Joe – Secret Mission Cobra”. I. Joe – Secret Mission Cobra” and the pilot for the old-school Marvel series “The Incredible Hulk”.

But the atmospheric sci-fi drama “Ad Astra – To the Stars”, in which Brad Pitt tries to send a message to his father Tommy Lee Jones, who is lost in space, tops all of these. The decelerated film is certainly not everyone’s cup of tea, but for us it is absolutely unique and well worth the 4 out of 5 stars we gave it in our review at the time.

Besides these licensed titles, Netflix also has “Tonight you sleep with me”, an original Polish film about a mother who is struggling with her regular family life and is therefore flirting with an affair, which, with this very similar premise, sets the mood for the sizzling entertainment that awaits you on Netflix on Thursday …

THURSDAY: “SEX/LIFE” SEASON 2

.. because here, after a nearly two-year wait, the series “Sex/Life” enters its second season, where we finally find out what happens next for Billie (Sarah Shani), torn between her husband Cooper (Mike Vogel) and her ex-boyfriend Brad (Adam Demos), who stands for her wild past, after her unexpected decision in the first season finale.

In addition, the Italian comedy series “Reingelegt!” also gets its second season, in which the two TV technicians Salvo (Salvatore Ficarra) and Valentino (Valentino Picone) are likely to stumble from one blunder into the next once again.

FRIDAY: KISSES WITH UNEXPECTED CONSEQUENCES

After Netflix has already done a lot during the week, they are baking smaller streaming rolls again this time on what is actually the classic Netflix release Friday. Romcom fans could get their money’s worth with “It’s You”, in which the main character has the unusual gift of always seeing the relationship with the kissed person in front of him – which is ultimately more of a curse than a blessing for him.

SATURDAY: CHRIS ROCK ENTERS NETFLIX UNCHARTED TERRITORY

It was already announced in late 2022, now it is being put into action: With his new stand-up special “Selective Outrage”, superstar Chris Rock will stage a live event for the first time in the history of Netflix – which can then, of course, be accessed afterwards as normal via the platform.

SUNDAY: CALM AFTER THE STORM

As the week has begun, so it ends. No Netflix news has been announced for Sunday so far, but over the previous days Netflix and other streaming providers should have accumulated enough material so that you will certainly not be bored. What new Netflix films and series await you in the coming weeks can be found in the following monthly overview for March:
