Plot and background
Ten-year-old Cécile moves with her family to a small town in the south of France and feels quite alone. When a travelling circus stops there, she is thrilled – especially by their attraction Poly, a Shetland pony. When she finds out that Poly is forced to perform tricks by the ringmaster, she frees her new friend and escapes with him.
