Netflix is bringing back the Power Rangers for the 30th anniversary of the cult series with a brand new film – featuring many original stars. Fans are already going wild and full of anticipation for “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always”.
Once a Ranger, always a Ranger is the slogan Netflix is using to promote “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always” to match the film’s title, and it’s aimed primarily at the avid fans who grew up with and still love the original series, which aired from 1993 to 1995 and went on to spawn numerous follow-up series and films.
The trailer for the film makes it clear that they’re not trying to suddenly go big-budget special effects with great special effects, but rather follow the trashy charm of the original – with simple costumes, reused cutscenes, and most importantly, the stars from back in the day.
My. God. I am a little kid again! GO GO POWER RANGERS!!!

So David Yost, who already embodied Billy Cranston aka the Blue Ranger back then, and Walter Jones aka Zack Taylor, the Black Ranger are back in the game. Steve Cardenas, Karan Ashley, Johnny Yong Bosch and Catherine Sutherland are also familiar from the series and are back in their Power Rangers costumes.
THERE IS “MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS: ONCE & ALWAYS “
In “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always”, the old Power Rangers must come together again. For in the midst of a global crisis, a threat they thought defeated long ago resurfaces: their great nemesis Rita Repulsa (Barbara Goodson, also from the original series).
I am literally crying. Power Rangers got me through the time I had cancer. I’ve…actually been rebuying some toys I lost, in honour of my late grandmother who bought them all for me.

With fans of the original, Netflix seems to have scored with the trailer already. Among the releases of the trailer on the official Netflix channels on Twitter and YouTube, there are rows of enthusiastic voices. There, fans report that they “have tears in their eyes” or that the trailer “immediately took them back to their childhood”.
Many are also enthusiastic about how Netflix commemorates the original Yellow Ranger actress Thuy Trang, who died in 2001 at the age of 27. In the trailer, a black and white image of the actress can be seen next to one that was surely not accidentally painted with lots of yellow paint.
