One of the 3 best films of 2023 so far, according to film fans, and coming soon to Disney+:

You’ve probably never heard of this movie, but the users of the movie review site Letterboxd make it clear: You should watch it! You’ll soon have the chance to do so, because “Rye Lane” is coming to Disney Plus.

Need a new secret movie tip? The users of the Letterboxd platform have one for you – for the film fans who enter their ratings there, “Rye Lane” is the third best film of 2023 so far. The average user rating in a weekly updated Top 50 list is currently 4.0 (to be precise: 4.02) out of a possible 5 stars.

Now, of course, you’re bound to be curious about which films currently occupy the 1st and 2nd places in 2023. The film fans on Letterboxd have so far given the best rating to the masterpiece “Past Lives” (average rating: 4.21), which also completely thrilled us at FILMSTARTS at this year’s Berlinale and received the highest rating of 5 stars in our official review – unfortunately, the “probably most touching film of the year” does not yet have a release date in Germany.

And in second place at Letterboxd is currently “John Wick: Chapter 4” (average rating: 4.05), which will be released in our cinemas on 23 March 2023 – of course we already have a review of “John Wick 4”.

“RYE LANE” STILL IN MARCH ON DISNEY+

Nfortunately, “Rye Lane” also has a start date, and it’s very soon: the romantic comedy by Raine Allen Miller is coming to Disney+ on 31 March 2023. You can already put the film on your watchlist on the streaming platform – which the author of this article did directly.

In “Rye Lane”, Dom (David Jonsson) and Yas (Vivian Oparah) run into each other in South London, both freshly separated. Through shared pain, they have an instant connection – and during a turbulent day in London, ponder how to cope with their breakups as they gradually realise that romance may still (or again) have a place in their lives.
