Record for new episode of “The Mandalorian” on Disney+.

by Dennis

“The Foundling” is the name of the 20th chapter of “The Mandalorian”, the fourth episode of the third season. It can now be streamed on Disney Plus. You don’t have to plan too much time for it this time though…

The new episode of “The Mandalorian” is a record length – or rather: record short. It is listed at Disney+ with a running time of 33 minutes, the correct running time including the complete credits (including voice-over panels) is only 32 minutes and 21 seconds. The credits themselves (where many might already switch off and then miss the great concept drawings at the end of each episode), start after 27 minutes and 40 seconds. This is all, moreover, including the flashback at the beginning, which some of you are also likely to skip. So you’ll be through in around 27 minutes this week.

The shortest episode so far was Chapter 2 with a total running time of 33 minutes and 42 seconds. The credits started rolling here after 28 minutes and 9 seconds. By the way, this episode was titled “The Child” – an interesting parallel to the new episode titled “The Foundling”.

Episode 2 proved that shorter is not necessarily worse. Of course, we don’t want to reveal how the new episode will turn out at this point – so we will only allow a small teaser: There will be the surprising return of a “Star Wars” actor who previously embodied an extremely reviled character…
