Plot and background
Nemo (Willem Dafoe) is an art thief who steals valuable works of art on a grand scale. But when a heist doesn’t go as planned, he suddenly finds himself trapped in a high-security New York penthouse. Locked up with nothing but priceless works of art, he must use all his cunning and innovation to survive. But the isolation and lack of food and drinking water take a noticeable toll on Nemo’s physical and mental state.

“Inside” – background, cast, theatrical release
With “Inside”, Greek director Vasilis Katsoupis brings a claustrophobic psychological thriller to theaters starting March 16, 2023. The filmmaker makes his directorial debut with the film. The screenplay is by author Ben Hopkins (“Welcome to Karastan”).
The film is carried in all its suspense primarily by lead actor Willem Dafoe (“The Lighthouse”). As the imprisoned art thief, the multi-award-winning actor is almost always alone in front of the camera, as in a chamber play. The only other roles are played by Gene Bervoets (“Vanished Without a Trace”) and Eliza Stuyck (“Vincent”).
Inside” celebrated its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival 2023, on February 20, 2023. The German theatrical release is set for March 16, 2023.
