Manta Manta – Zwoter Teil: Long-awaited sequel to the German cult comedy with Til Schweiger.
Plot and background
Since he hung up his racing career, Bertie (Til Schweiger) runs a car repair shop with an attached kart track. Business is rather bad than good and when he falls behind with the repayment of a loan and the bank threatens with foreclosure, Bertie has to find a solution. He has his eye on the winner’s prize in the upcoming Classic Cars race at Bilster Berg.
But as tempting as the prize money seems, which could solve all his financial problems in one fell swoop, his plan is risky because Bertie hasn’t raced on a track in years. Finally, when his ex-wife Uschi (Tina Ruland) shows up at the door to ask the handyman to take care of their son Daniel (Tim Oliver Schultz), the chaos is perfect.
What Til Schweiger and Tina Ruland have to say about the making of the film and what the future holds for Berti and Uschi, they reveal to us and you in the interview:
“Manta Manta – Second Part” – Background
More than 30 years after the release of the first part “Manta, Manta”, leading actor, director, screenwriter and co-producer Til Schweiger brings the long-awaited sequel of the cult comedy to the big screen with “Manta Manta – Zwoter Teil”.
“Manta Manta – Zwoter Teil” – cast, theatrical release
Til Schweiger, whose great film career began in 1991 with the leading role in “Manta, Manta”, slips into the role of racing driver Bertie one more time. As Daniel and Mücke, they play the now grown-up children of the divorced couple Bertie and Uschi.

Other roles were played by Tamer Trasoglu (“Nobody asked me”), Nilam Farooq (“Contra”), Emma Drogunova (“Bonnie & Bonnie”), Timur Bartels (“Red Ribbon Club”), Moritz Bleibtreu (“Caveman”), Wotan Wilke Möhring (“The Perfect Secret”), Axel Stein (“The Goldfish”), Sami Nasser (“4 Blocks”) and Kailas Mahadevan (“Berlin, Berlin – The Movie”).
