The Flash: In the DC comic book adaptation, Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) transforms into the superhero “The Flash” after an accident, moving faster than light.
Plot and background
Nearly five years after his appearance as part of the “Justice League,” Ezra Miller dons a new suit as superhero “The Flash.” Thanks to a lightning strike, the Red Flash not only has immense speed, but can even move between dimensions. In his solo film, Barry Allen not only meets Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne, but even the earlier incarnation of the Dark Knight, portrayed by Michael Keaton. Will there even be further appearances of well-known DC characters in the Multiverse? For the planned theatrical release of “The Flash” on June 15, 2023, there is certainty.
“The Flash” comic book backgrounds on the character
Once young Barry Allen lost his mother Nora Allen to murder. The murderer was believed to be his father, who died in prison after being convicted. However, the growing Barry never wanted to believe this. As a police forensic scientist, he takes things very carefully, therefore belongs to the best in his field. Because of his skills, Allen is respected, but his slow manner makes him a laughingstock. All that will change, however, when Barry Allen is struck by lightning one night.
The lightning strikes directly into Allen’s lab. Dozens of chemicals and the electrical charge create a unique mixture – with completely unpredictable side effects. As Allen slowly regains consciousness, he already notices the first changes. A few days later, there is no longer any doubt: suddenly he is as fast as lightning. From now on, Allen uses his ability to move at the speed of light to ensure law and order in Central City as “The Flash”. During his runs through space, he even notices the further ability to pierce time as well. When he meets his mother in an alternate reality, he sets his mind on preventing his mother’s murder in his reality.
