“The Machine” – background, cast, theatrical release
Based on the successful stand-up act by Bert Kreischer, Kevin Biegel and Scotty Landes have set about adapting the screenplay for “The Machine”. Kreischer, the 51-year-old American comedian, actor and television star first gained national attention for an article he wrote in Rolling Stone magazine in 1997 called “The Undergraduate” in which he described his wild and crazy college experiences at Florida State University. Inspired by the original story, the film “The Machine” picks up 23 years later and shows a humorous and action-packed continuation of the adventures of the wild college student Kreischer.
Bert Kreischer himself not only appeared in front of the camera as himself, but also produces the action comedy alongside Cale Boyter, Judi Marmel, Peter Atencio and his wife LeeAnn Kreischer. Peter Atencio (“Keanu”) takes a seat in the director’s chair.
In addition to Kreischer, the cast includes “Star Wars” legend Mark Hamill, Jimmy Tatro (“22 Jump Street”), Iva Babić (“One Shot”), Robert Maaser (“Blood & Gold”), Stephanie Kurtzuba (“The Irishman”) and Mercedes de la Cruz.
“The Machine” opens in cinemas here on 25 May 2023.
