“Toss A Coin To Your Witcher”: This week the biggest Netflix new release is the third season of “The Witcher”. But Netflix also has other exciting things on offer such as “Nimona” or the Whitney Houston biopic “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”.
It’s a goodbye that will hurt fans: On 29 June 2023, the first part of the third season of “The Witcher” will start. As is well known, this will be the last time that Henry Cavill becomes the white-haired monster hunter. Since the season will be released in two parts, it will still take until 27 July before you really have to say goodbye for good.
But Netflix customers who are not addicted to the Witcher will also get their money’s worth this week. With “Nimona”, there is unusual future fantasy entertainment about the eponymous shapeshifter. With “Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody” and Larry Clark’s cult film “Kids”, film fans also get new streaming supplies.
As we do every Sunday, we present to you the Netflix highlights of the coming week. From 26 June to 2 July 2023, you can find out what sounds particularly exciting and which films and series you should take a look at, broken down by day of the week here:
MONDAY &THURSDAY: TUESDAY: REST DAY AT NETFLIX
The week begins without any notable reboots. Time enough to go through the programme of the last few days. Maybe get really shocked again with “Don’t Breathe 2” or catch up on the final season of the dark superhero series “Titans”?
WEDNESDAY: SHOWCASE WITH “SUCCESSION” STAR
There’s a thrilling reboot for horror fans in “Run Rabbit Run”: single mother and fertility doctor Sarah (Sarah Snook) doesn’t believe in the supernatural, but still finds that her daughter Mia (Lily LaTorre) is exhibiting disturbing behaviour and suddenly begins to mimic patterns of behaviour from her older sister. Nothing unusual really, the only problem is that Sarah’s sister Alice disappeared without a trace at the age of seven….
If you’re not into the scary stuff, you might be interested in the docu-miniseries “Muscles & Mayhem: An Unauthorized Story of American Gladiators”. Here, viewers get an insight into the genesis of the cult show “American Gladiators”.
THURSDAY: TIME TO SAY GOODBYE, MR. WITCHER
For some time now, “The Witcher” fans have been looking forward to this day with one laughing eye and one crying eye. Volume 1 of the Henry Cavill farewell season starts today. This comprises the first five episodes. With “Volume 2”, three more episodes will be released in July. Fans of the series will have to live without Henry Cavill as the monster slayer, but the series will still continue. Liam Hemsworth (“Independence Day: Return”) will follow in the Wizard’s footsteps.
