Transformers: Rise of the Beasts: sixth installment in the Transformers film series, featuring a completely unknown species of Transformers as the Deceptions and the Autobots engage in another explosive battle.

Plot and Background

After a five-year wait, the Transformers finally return to the big screen. In 1990s New York, the Autobots encounter an unknown new breed of Transformers, the Maximals. Meanwhile, the Autobots once again battle the rival Decepticon team, bringing out the heavy artillery. So this sixth instalment of the successful film series heralds a whole new era in the Transformers universe. Fans of the films can also look forward to the appearance of new Transformers such as Optimus Primal (Ron Perlman), Airazor (Michelle Yeo), Mirage (Pete Davidson), Rhinox, Arcee and Nightbird.

The official trailer premiered at the Comic-Con Experience (CCXP) in São Paulo and promises an explosive action adventure:

“Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” – cast, background, cinema release

Whether you’re talking about Transformers 6 or Transformers 7 when it comes to the new adventures of the Autobots, based on the popular Hasbro toys, depends entirely on whether you add 2018’s prequel “Bumblebee” to the previous five Transformers movies. Unlike all those prequels, however, this time it was not Michael Bay who took a seat in the director’s chair, but filmmaker Steven Cable Jr. (“Creed II – Rocky’s Legacy”).

And the cast also shines with new but still well-known faces such as Grammy winner Anthony Ramos (“Hamilton”), who slips into the role of military veteran and family father Noah, and Dominique Fishback (“Judas and the black Messiah”), who stood in front of the camera as the archaeologist Elena. And there are also some changes in the ranks of the Transformers. Peter Cullen returns as Optimus Prime, but some Hollywood stars lend their voices to the new Transformers. For example, Peter Dinklage (“Game of Thrones”) speaks Scourge in the original English version, while Ron Perlman (“Hellboy”) can be heard as Optimus Primal. Michelle Yeoh (“Everything Everywhere All at Once”) lends her voice to Airazor and “Saturday Night Live” star Pete Davidson voices the Transformer Mirage.

The German film release date is 8 June 2022.
