Universal Pictures has revealed a brand new Strays trailer for its upcoming R-rated comedy. Will Ferrell and Jamie Foxx lend their respective voices to the optimistic Reggie and foul-mouthed Bug.
The video introduces Ferrell’s Reggie, who goes on a dangerous journey with a group of strays for revenge against the owner who abandoned him. The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on August 18.

Strays is directed by Josh Greenbaum from a screenplay written by Dan Perrault. It is described as a hilarious, R-rated, live-action comedy about the complications of love, the importance of great friendships, and the unexpected virtues of couch humping. Joining Ferrell and Foxx are Will Forte, Isla Fisher, Randall Park, Josh Gad, Harvey Guillén, Rob Riggle, Brett Gelman, Jamie Demetriou, and Sofia Vergara.
“When Reggie, a naïve, relentlessly optimistic Border Terrier, is abandoned on the mean city streets by his lowlife owner, Doug, Reggie is certain that his beloved owner would never leave him on purpose,” reads the synopsis. “But once Reggie falls in with a fast-talking, foul-mouthed Boston Terrier named Bug, a stray who loves his freedom and believes that owners are for suckers, Reggie finally realizes he was in a toxic relationship and begins to see Doug for the heartless sleazeball that he is.”
The film produced by Picturestart founder and CEO Erik Feig (Cha Cha Real Smooth), Louis Leterrier (Fast X), Dan Perrault (American Vandal), and Lord Miller partners Phil Lord and Chris Miller (Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse) and Lord Miller President of Film Aditya Sood (Cocaine Bear).
