Bear Ernest is heartbroken when his beloved violin breaks. So his best friend, Célestine the mouse, decides to take the bear to his faraway home to have the violin repaired. When they arrive, however, they discover that in the country that is considered the home of the best musicians in the world, any kind of music has been forbidden for many years. For Ernest and Célestine, however, a life without music is absolutely unimaginable. Together with their newfound friends from the musical resistance and the support of a mysterious masked avenger, Ernest and Célestine do everything they can to bring music back to Ernest’s home and with it the joy of life.

With “Ernest and Célestine: The journey into the land of music” comes after “Ernest & Célestine” the second adventure of the musical animal duo in the cinema. The film adaptations are based on the children’s book series “Ernest et Célestine” by Belgian author and illustrator Gabrielle Vincent, which was published in Germany under the title “Mimi und Brumm”. Directors Julien Chheng and Jean-Christophe Roger are bringing the animated film to theaters as a French-Belgian-Luxembourg co-production.
The German theatrical release date for “Ernest and Célestine: Journey to the Land of Music” is August 03, 2023. The children’s film is released without age restriction.
