Fantasy hit from Netflix is discontinued after 5 years: New trailer for

The fantasy series “Disenchantment” by “The Simpsons” creator Matt Groening comes to an end with season 5. At least the Netflix series gets a real conclusion. And the new trailer promises a real cracker finale:

Matt Groening is one of the most important creative minds in the field of adult animation entertainment of our time. He is responsible, for example, for the series “The Simpsons,” which is the longest-running scripted and prime-time series in U.S. TV history. And his second project, “Futurama,” was recently revived (again) and celebrated its comeback with the eleventh season. However, a similarly long life is not granted to his fantasy series “Disenchantment” produced for Netflix.

The fifth season of “Disenchantment” will also mark the end of the popular series. But do not worry, the story of Bean (voice in the original: Abbi Jacobson), Elfo (Nat Faxon) and house demon Luci (Eric André) will be brought to a round conclusion.

In the new trailer for the final season we already get an impression of the epic battle of the generations, because Bean and her mother meet one last time – in the all-decisive battle for Dreamland. Of course, the first trailer also clearly shows that there will still be time for jokes, snappy remarks, and silliness.

THE END WAS PLANNED

Unlike many other series, by the way, this is not a premature Netflix cancellation. Already in advance, those responsible around Matt Groening have thought about the end of the series. Sources told Deadline that season 5 was intended as a finale and was also designed as such.

We can therefore hope that the series, which with its conclusion then comes to an extremely respectable 50 episodes by Netflix standards, has also concluded all open plot threads and answered all open questions to our satisfaction. And so we look forward to the end of “Disenchantment” with a teary eye, but also with a laugh.

Season 5 starts on September 1, 2023 exclusively on Netflix. Then brave warriors can venture into battle with the hard-drinking king’s daughter one last time from the comfort of their sofa at home.
