My friend Conni – Secret about cat Mau: In the animated film of the popular children’s book series Conni and her friends expect an animal adventure – without parents.
Plot and background
For Conni the vacation season is coming, she travels with her friends Anna and Simon – and for the first time without her parents. While it’s hard to say goodbye to her beloved cat at home, she discovers shortly after arriving at the hotel that Mau the cat has come along as a stowaway. However, pets are not allowed in her accommodation and the owner of the guesthouse, Mrs. Weingärtner, is also allergic to cats.
The impetuous tomcat is not bothered by this, preferring to explore his new surroundings. The cheeky tomcat does not go unnoticed, but Mrs. Weingärtner suspects her son Oskar’s badger and would like to put him straight into the zoo. In addition, objects keep disappearing from the hotel…

For more than twenty years, Conni has been delighting young and old alike in her red and white striped sweater. With her stories, she accompanies children through kindergarten and school and answers everyday questions and problems in a child-friendly way. Behind the “Conni” stories is author Liane Schneider in collaboration with various illustrators.
Directed by Ansgar Niebuhr, who after “Werner, das muss kesseln” was also involved in child-oriented projects such as “Princess Lillifee” and “Ein Fall für TKKG,” Conni’s first animated adventure will hit the big screen in 2020. For the script, Niebuhr has enlisted the help of Nana Andrea Meyer and Jens Urban, who has recently contributed scripts to numerous crime TV films and is venturing into unfamiliar territory with “Conni”.
The theatrical release date for the lovingly animated family adventure is June 25, 2020.
