A new Cassandro trailer has been released for a new Prime Video movie starring Gael García Bernal.
“Saúl Armendáriz, a gay amateur wrestler from El Paso, rises to international stardom after he creates the character ‘Cassandro,’ the ‘Liberace of Lucha Libre,’” reads the synopsis. “In the process, he upends not just the macho wrestling world, but also his own life. Based on a true story.”

When is the Cassandro release date?
The movie releases in select theaters on September 15, 2023, and globally on Prime Video on September 22, 2023.
The cast includes Gael García Bernal, Roberta Colindrez, Perla de la Rosa, Joaquín Cosío, and Raúl Castillo with special appearances from El Hijo del Santo and Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio.
Cassandro is directed by Roger Ross Williams. It is written by David Teague & Roger Ross Williams. It is produced by Gerardo Gatica, Todd Black, David Bloomfield, Ted Hope, and Julie Goldman.
