“Rebel Moon” on Netflix: That’s how much longer Zack’s director’s cut will be.

We still have to be patient until part 1 of Zack Snyder’s “Rebel Moon” saga is released on Netflix in December. The director has now already given a preview of the Director’s Cut, which the streaming service will also publish.

After the first trailer for “Rebel Moon” by Zack Snyder was recently released during Gamescom, not only fans of the “Man Of Steel” creator agree: The sci-fi epic will be an absolute spectacle! Until “Rebel Moon: Child of Fire” is released on Netflix, however, we’ll still have to spend a few more nights sleeping around our ears, because it won’t be until December 22. The sequel, “Rebel Moon 2: The Scar Maker,” will then launch on April 19, 2024.

But Zack Snyder wouldn’t be Zack Snyder if we didn’t also have to talk about a director’s cut of the “Rebel Moon” saga – and it will indeed exist, without fans having to run up a storm on X (formerly Twitter). In contrast to the Snyder Cut of “Justice League”, the long version of the epic space adventure with Sofia Boutella and Charlie Hunnam will also be released on Netflix. And Zack Snyder has now spoken out about this one to Netflix’s Tudum:

ALMOST AN HOUR LONGER!

“The Director’s Cut includes almost an hour of additional content. So I think it’s a legitimate Extended Universe version. You really get to see a lot there,” Snyder said. “The Director’s Cut is a session to get comfortable for, which is something I’ve become famous for over the course of my career. I don’t know how I got into this director’s cut thing, but what I can say about it is that director’s cuts have been something I’ve had to fight for in the past.”

With Netflix, however, it was different now, the director continued. There, he said, he shot scenes specifically for the director’s cut. The longer version is a revelation and a discovery for great fans, promised Snyder.

Whether this is a longer version of “Child of Fire” or a version of the complete work “Rebel Moon” including “The Scar Maker” (in both cases, the running time is also not yet known), is not entirely clear. So how exactly the whole thing will turn out in the end with the director’s cut remains to be seen. But one can be curious how gigantic Zack Snyder’s vision will turn out in the end…
