Strays: Black-humored live-action comedy in which abandoned dog Reggie goes out of his way to get one over on his former owner.
Plot and background
When dog owner Doug heartlessly abandons his mercilessly optimistic and lovable border terrier Reggie (Freshtorge) one day, he has no idea what he’s in for. At first, naive Reggie is certain that his beloved master would never intentionally abandon him. But the uncouth Boston Terrier Bug (Eko Fresh) quickly teaches the abandoned four-legged friend otherwise. The free-spirited stray is convinced that dog owners are all morons. Gradually, Reggie begins to question his unwavering loyalty to Doug, seeing him for the callous animal abuser he is.
The two strays vow revenge on Doug and receive support from Bug’s friends who can relate to Reggie’s fate. For example, there is the clever Australian Shepherd dog Maggie, who has been unceremoniously replaced by her owner with a new puppy, or the anxious stressed-out therapy dog Hunter. Together, the four of them embark on a turbulent adventure – with the goal of really getting back at Doug.

“Doggy Style” – background, cast, theatrical release
With “Doggy Style”, a live-action comedy for adults with extra biting humor will conquer the cinema screens on August 31, 2023. Director Josh Greenbaum (“Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar”) created together with screenwriter Dan Perrault (“American Vandal”) a satire on cuddly-cute dog movies, because in “Doggy Style” it goes with the strays also sometimes not quite boy-free.
While Hollywood stars Will Ferrell (“Get Hard”) and Jamie Foxx (“Ray”) lend their voices to the dogs Reggie and Bug in the original English version, the German voice cast is also prominent. The stray dog Bug is voiced by rapper Eko Fresh from Cologne. In 2003, Eko Fresh’s hit “König von Deutschland” (King of Germany) made him a household name in one fell swoop, and since then it’s hard to imagine the German music scene without him. With the project “Blockbustaz” he starts his acting career in 2015. Torge Oelrich, also known as Freshtorge, lends his voice to the freshly minted stray Reggie. The latter has become known as a comedy Youtuber and now has well over 5 million subscribers. Outside the online world, Freshtorge can be seen since the spring of 2023 with his own first sketch comedy series “Einsame Herzen” and a successful live tour.
